This is the default setting, and thus the reason why reports about
"toolbox stays on top of the image window" are now popping up.
Can be changed in Preferences - Window management.

Why not? If you have decent hardware and enough RAM, it runs better than
XP.

Once you turn off all the extra services, security and all that eye-candy it 
runs just great!  I've got it running on a 1.2GHz Celeron laptop with 
256Megs of RAM that my kids use for games.

In a review on the eeepc a local PCjournal says it is too much hassle to
install an xp (with antivirus and such), so you should better stick with
linux on it ...  A strange conclusion: how much work is a HUGE portable,
and how much work is a SMALL portable with XP/vista??

You need to drink 5X more coffee with your big one ?? ;-)

The only hassle with small portables is because they don't have CD-ROM
drive, and most people don't have USB CD drive at home. It's possible to
install XP without an USB CD, but it's a lot of hassle for an average user.

I did not post my message in order to debate the merits of various 
operating systems on a newsgroup devoted to a image-editing application. 
Perhaps you should try comp.os.linux.advocacy or 
alt.flame.operating-systems.

Once you turn off all the extra services, security and all that eye-candy it 
runs just great!  I've got it running on a 1.2GHz Celeron laptop with
