I have a netbook running this and there does not seem to be anything in the repo's. If you do a search then you find fonts scattered all over the place but the main location is /usr/share/fonts/. there are a couple of useful (but oldish) articles here: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/6428/4/ http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/6431/1/ Installing is easier. There should be in 'home' a (hidden) folder ~/.fonts copy your fonts there or exclusively for gimp ~/.gimp-2.6/fonts One thing to note - the unicode fonts have many different languages all in one package. So you can have Arial(latin) but it also has a section for say, Arial(mongolian). However you should not see these except in perhaps a font viewer. -- rich

They are just what I needed. More importantly they told where to put the new fonts. I found another treasure trove of fonts. www.urbanfonts.com T Dave
