Hi all,
in a linearized pdf file, the "startxref" at the end of the file
points usually to a place near the beginning (for example the position
116). If a programm updates this pdf file, should the /Prev value in
the new trailer dictionary 116 haben? That is, the old startxref and
the new /Prev point to the same position? Many thanks for hint.

If you alter the PDF the linearization is gone and you must linearize
it again.
